From malls exclusively selling gold jewellery to those dealing with only wedding-related objects, India has seen quite a few specialised malls already, but this one claims to be even more so, catering to those with brains rather than those with fat purses.

Yes, now, India has its first exclusive “mall” that sells only magazines, and even though it exists only on the virtual world, it provides both online magazines as well as home delivers hard copies of various publications across a range of interests.

The “Magazinemall.in”, as it calls itself, has its logistics hub at Gurgaon adjacent to Delhi and promises to deliver home magazines that would cater to various subjects, ranging from news & current affairs to sports to science & technology to fashion to computers, management and photography.

Global Interactive Malls, the promoters of this virtual mall which right now has 27 categories of subjects each of which has several domestic and foreign publications listed, are promising to give prominent and focused space to particularly niche magazines which lose out in the battle for space in newsstands and book stores.

The venture has entered into agreements with more than 16 leading publishing groups covering over 150 publication titles and is said to be in discussion to bring in more titles under its roof, apart from tying up with a leading courier service for fast delivery of magazines to the homes of customers.

“Ours is the first portal to provide the dual benefit of flexibility of online magazine shopping and the reading pleasure of print publications. This is the first of its kind in India based on the products/services offered, the target demographics, the reach strategy, the portal design and functionality, with a full cycle delivery fulfillment model,” says Magazine Mall’s founder CEO Sandeep Kumar.

“It is an aggregation platform for readers, providing one-stop subscription management solution across interests, age groups and publication categories,” he claims.
